10 Uses for Thyroid Warrior Iodine Beyond Supplementing

Author: Dr. Mikell Suzanne Parsons, DC, CCN, DACBN, DACNBDate: Length: 02:24

Key Takeaways

  • Dr. Parsons keeps Thyroid Warrior in her medicine cabinet for uses beyond supplementing.
  • Her suggested uses include toothaches, acne, warts, cuts and scrapes, nasal irrigation, and bug bites.
  • These uses apply to this form of iodine, not iodine bound to potassium, and the product temporarily stains the skin.

In part four of her iodine series, Dr. Parsons shares her top 10 uses for Thyroid Warrior beyond taking it as a supplement. It's the iodine product she uses because it isn't bound to potassium, and she calls it one of her new medicine cabinet staples.

A heads-up before you start: the product stains, and it will temporarily discolor your skin.

Dr. Parsons' Top 10 Uses

  • Breast care: paint it on the breasts, especially for fibrocystic breast problems.
  • Toothaches: put drops directly on an aching or infected tooth to help the body fight the infection.
  • Acne: mix 20 drops into 1 ounce of purified water and spritz it on your face, since acne is often caused by bacterial overgrowth. Don't paint it directly on your face, because it will discolor your skin.
  • Iodine bath: add 30 drops to your bath water and soak.
  • Warts: warts are viral, so put a drop or two directly on the wart to help your body get rid of it.
  • Scrapes and cuts: use it to disinfect kids' scrapes and cuts.
  • Nasal irrigation: use it to rinse your sinuses, which Dr. Parsons notes is especially helpful with the allergies and sinus problems common in the Valley.
  • Mouthwash: use it for bad breath (though bad breath can have other causes).
  • Bug bites: apply it directly to mosquito bites that turn into big, red, itchy welts.
  • General skin care

Use the Right Form of Iodine

Dr. Parsons stresses that these uses are for this particular form of iodine, not iodine bound to potassium.

Hey everyone, this is part four in our iodine series. If you've missed one, two, and three, make sure you go back and watch, because there's a high probability you're going to need that information. But if you're wondering what some other uses are for the Thyroid Warrior product, because it's a safer form of iodine, I wrote out the top 10. One is you can literally paint your breasts with it, especially if you've got fibrocystic problems or they're just not happy girls. Paint your breasts. Remember, the product will stain. It will discolor your skin, not forever, but just for a moment. Ease a toothache. If you've got a problem with your tooth or it's infected, you can literally put drops directly in the area, and that will actually help fight the infection. It will help your body fight whatever it is your body is fighting against. It kills bacteria that can cause acne. If it's something topical that you want to use, we obviously don't want to paint our face, because it will turn a different color. But you can put 20 drops in 1 ounce of purified water and then spritz it on your face, because acne is often caused by bacterial overgrowth. You can do an iodine bath. You could put 30 drops in your water and just luxuriously soak, and allow your body to be happy that it's getting more iodine. You can put it topically on warts. Warts are a viral thing, so you can just put a drop or two on that wart, and it will help your body get rid of it. It can disinfect scrapes and cuts. If you've got little kiddos who are crashing and burning and cutting themselves up and scraping, you can put it directly on their boo-boos. Nasal irrigation: you can just drench your sinuses in it, which is super important, because there are a lot of allergies and sinus problems here in the Valley. You can use it as a mouthwash if you're dealing with bad breath. There are other causes for that, but this is a good place to start. You can put it right on top of bug bites, those darn mosquitoes that some of you get horrible reactions to, big red welts and itchy. Put some of that directly on them. And you can use it in general for your skin. So remember, you can do this with this particular form of iodine, not the iodine bound to potassium. This is the safer bet, and there are so many different uses for it. This is now one of my new medicine cabinet things. You want it in your home, because it will be at your home when you need it. So make sure you have it. It's a medicine cabinet supplement. Lots of uses, and if you've got a lot of kiddos, you will be using it a lot. I hope this serves you well, and I hope all of your thyroids are getting healthier. Bye.
